It works in 13 districts of Bangladesh and primarily aims to give aid to the neediest and most vulnerable people, such as the elderly, women, disabled, and displaced people.

FIGHTING AGAINST POVERTY
Living in the Maria village of Durgapur Upazila in Rajshahi, Rozina Bibi has two children in her family. When her son reached the age 12, she lost her husband. Her husband’s death brought financial crisis to Rozina’s family. Her son now studies in class 9 and the younger daughter is in class 1. She is barely managing the education expenses of her children.Without any income, Rozina had been searching for a way out.
This is when GUSS’s Sustainable Livelihood programme funded by BRTUK came as a ray of hope in her life. Rozina Bibi was given 35 ducks from which now she has 24.She has 2 male ducks and 22 females in her poultry farm. She receives 20/21 eggs each day which she sells at the village market at the rate of 50 taka per four of eggs. Rozina Bibi is now another example of women who are ready to a step towards creating an independent venture for themselves. Women like her fulfills the main purpose of working towards building a stronger community to fight against poverty.

A HAPPY CHILD AND HIS MOTHER
In 2017, when Minara Begum woke up to the sound of people shouting and yelling, she knew that her life would never be the same again. At 20 years years of age, she too joined the mass exodus with the hundreds of thousands of other people escaping the terror of the Myanmar military. Fortunately, she was not alone, and with her husband, she found refuge across the border in Bangladesh.
However, a larger family means there is an increased need for food and sustenance, which is not easy to come by. So when Minara received the Ramadan food packs from MAUSA, she was very grateful. ‘Because of this, I can be more at ease during the holy month and also teach the values of such kindness to my elder son. Thank you to MAUSA and everyone who has helped us. You will all be in my prayers.’
A HOUSE BECOMES A HOME
Nur Safa (FCN-194009) aged 35 years, lives with her only daughter and two sons at block C in camp-4. He migrated in Bangladesh in September 2017 with her children. The death of her husband brought countless misery in her life, 10 years ago in 2012. In August 2017 when suddenly the environment of Rakhine state in Myanmar became terrible restless due to military aggression, assaulting, looting the valuable assets and recklessly killing of the civilian people by the Myanmar army Nur Safa saw the life-threatening situation in Myanmar. So, at the eleventh hour, finding no other alternative way to save their lives, Nur Safa crossed the border with the help of her neighboring people and entered Bangladesh, empty-handed only grabbing her children while crossing the border. But Bangladesh was no entirely welcoming and peaceful for her.
