Programs of Global Unnayan Seba Sangstha (GUSS):   

Global Unnayan Seba Sangstha (GUSS) has been implementing two types of programs since its inception. These are sustainable development programs and emergency and humanitarian programs.       


1. Sustainable development programs:


Education, Health and Livelihood Project:

Global Unnayan Seba Sangstha (GUSS) has been implementing a long 5 years integrated Education, Health and Livelihood project funded by Bangladesh Regeneration Trust UK (BRTUK), a British-based Charity Organization since 2017. The duration of the project is April 2017 to April 2022. About 105 poor and meritorious students will get stipend support, 300 primary schools will get wash support, 10000 primary students will get education materials and 1000 beneficiaries will get livelihood support. This project has been implemented in 6 different districts i.e. Bhola, Patuakhali, Barguna, Sylhet, Sunamganj, and Rajshahi.


Formal Education:

Global Unnayan Seba Sangstha (GUSS) has been giving support for formal education as well. A higher secondary college named “Principle Women College” in Sylhet where more than 150 poor are getting education support from this project. BRTUK is also giving its continuous support for education.    




2. Emergency and humanitarian programs:



Rohingya Emergency Project:

Global Unnayan Seba Sangstha (GUSS) has been implementing the “Emergency Rohingya Support Project” since September 2017 when the recent crisis was started in Teknaf and Ukhiya under Cox’s Bazar district. Before this, GUSS distributed Food Pack in the Month of Ramadan 2017 with financial help from Bangladesh Regeneration Trust UK (BRTUK), a British-based Charity Organization, and Masjid Manhattan, USA. GUSS implemented the following Emergency Rohingya Support for Rohingya Refugees till now:

1.       Food pack for 320 HHs

2.       Winter Blankets for 3000 HHs

3.       Mosquito Nets for 2500 HHs

4.       Solar Power system for 400 HHs

5.       Lungi and Saree for 600 HHs

6.       Baby Food for 250 HHs

7.       Hygiene Kits for 1500 HHs

8.       Dignity Kits for 300 Women

About 42,000 beneficiaries comprising male, female, and children were benefited from the projects. GUSS tried to give support to the old aged, disabled, orphans, and widows under these projects.     


Seasonal Project (Ramadan and Qurbani):

GUSS has been implementing seasonal programs i.e. Ramadan, Qurbani for the most vulnerable community in Bangladesh. In 2017, GUSS distributed Ramadan Food Pack and Eid Gift for more than 3000 beneficiaries. Besides, about 5000 beneficiaries received Qurbani meat last year. These projects were implemented in 11 different districts.


Special Project:

GUSS supported flood-affected populations in Sunamganj last year. More than 300 HHs got food packs and clothing support under the project. 


Charity Appeal:

GUSS is the only working partner of BRTUK in Bangladesh to implement all types of project activities. We have a five years agreement between GUSS and BRTUK for Education, Health, Livelihood, special and emergency support programs in Bangladesh. For this, BRTUK organizes charity appeals for every event with the support of GUSS in the UK.  


Project with Muslim Aid UK:

Recently GUSS started an integrated Wash, Shelter, and Hygiene-related project with the financial assistance of Muslim Aid UK from March 2018. More than 3000 HHs will be supported by the project comprising 15000 beneficiaries. The deliverable items are Hygiene kits, deep tube-wells, washrooms for males and females including bathing facilities for women, upgraded shelter kits. The duration of the project will be 6 months. If needed, the period will be extended. HH survey has already been started to select the beneficiary. As per the decision of RRRC, GUSS will work in Balukhali Camp-6, at Ukhiya Upazila in Cox’s Bazar district considering the current vulnerable situation.
